Botanical information:
Soybean Isoflavones are the active ingredients in soybeans. The Isoflavones in soybean have weak estrogen-like properties. Women who question hormone replacement therapy and are looking for natural ways to reduce the effects of menopause have turned to soybean. There are four major Isoflavones in soybean ¨C Daidzein, Daidzin, Genistein, and Genistin.
Tofu, soybean sprouts, miso and tempeh all have high Isoflavone levels. Soy sauce is a poor source of soy Isoflavones.
Soy, is also named Glycine max, Glycine soja, Soya, Soybeans. Soybeans are believed to be native to China, but they are now grown as crops in most parts of the world. Soybean plants are between one foot and 5 feet tall with fuzzy stems, leaves, and seed pods. Soybeans also contain minerals such as calcium, iron, and potassium.

By competing with the more potent estrogen for binding to the estrogen receptor, weak estrogens are thought to be able to function as antiestrogens. However, isoflavones also exhibit effects that are not related to estrogen activity.

3)In vitro work has shown that genistein inhibits the growth of a wide range of cancer cells including those that are not hormone-dependent. The proposed expla
